Laura's Adoption Process Letter
This letter is to help explain the adoption process. It does take a little time, but we want to make the best match possible between silky and family.
First, we go through the adoption applications to find people that are in the local area to the rescue dog we are placing. We then send out a supplemental questionnaire, and from the answers on that, we choose a few homes to do phone interviews with. References are checked and verified, and any info from those references is added to the file. After the phone interviews, we will choose a home to make a visit to, and bring along the dog to see how it likes the home and people. This also lets the people see if this is really the dog they would like to adopt. If that home doesn't work out, we will proceed with the next applicant, and so on, until we find the best home for the silky.
Depending on how many applicants there are, this process can take from a few days to a couple of weeks or more. Please be patient and understand that this process is to make sure the SILKY is placed in the right home. Our number one concern is for the animal's welfare.
If you have any questions during the application process, you can feel free to email me at any time.
Thank you for your interest in silky rescue.
