Looking for a Home

Foster Mom calls me Rio and she says that Iím the prettiest Silky she ever bailed out of a shelter. I am a one year old boy, barely out of my puppy stage. I am sweet, noisy, feisty, playful, snugly baby boy who has never learned all the things a puppy should learn. Foster Mom has been working hard to teach me to wait for her to get me outside before I do my business, and not to lunge at dogs I donít know. She says I have to sleep in the crate and be quiet in there, too. Iím making good progress on my lessons, but my new Mom will need to continue my education. My favorite things are lying on F.M.ís lap being stroked and chasing after the toy she throws for me. Bet you didnít know that a Silky could retrieve, huh! Iím a really good kisser, too! Rio
Rio Rio is a lovely silver color with good tans and a blonde topknot. His coat has been chopped short, but it will grow. He weighs under 10 pounds and is still a bit thin, but has a good appetite. He has been recently neutered and has all his shots and is apparently very healthy. He gets along fine with the dogs here, but he wants to charge unfamiliar ones. Iím quite sure that he would chase cats as well. He would do well in a home with a doggie door so he could let himself out when he needs to go. He also needs a secure fence, because he is a good climber. He rides well in the car. He has adjusted to life here, but needs his own family. He probably would not do well with children and he would like a place where someone is at home much of the time as he likes company. He would respond well to someone who is familiar with a Silky TerrierĎs level of feistiness and is good at being in charge of the household.
Rio's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for him. Preference will be given to local applicants. His adoption fee is $300.
