Yoda ~ in southern California

Looking for a Home

Wow, this is soooo much better than the shelter, although, they were good to me there. I was at the shelter for a long, long time because I guess no one thought I was that cute. The shelter had me listed as a silky mix and they were getting awfully full and they didn't want anything to happen to me so they called Silky Rescue.

My foster mom says I'm a silky...NOT!...more like a Lhasa/Border Terrier mix. Of course, that means I have a long tail and I wag it all the time.

I'm only about 16 months old and need some training but I'm a willing learner. I learned the doggie door right away and am pretty much house trained. I ride in the car very well and I walk on a leash reasonably well....it's just that I'm soooo happy to be free and I bounce around. You should see me prance when I settle down and behave myself. I need a very secure yard with a high fence because I can imitate a gazelle.

yoda I'm not always sure of people, especially if they're waving their arms all over the place, but if they approach me quietly, I like them. For this reason, I would be much better for a family with no children or just one older teenager. I'm not sure around other dogs but I have become friends with two silky girls.....it's my charm! I wouldn't mind having a furry friend if they weren't pushy but because I was at the shelter for so long, I learned to not always trust other dogs so I ward them off by flashing my pearly whites at them. I have been neutered and I am up to date on my shots (that wasn't too much fun, though!).

Yoda's foster mom says he will be a great companion in the right home...If you think yours might be the right home for Yoda, please fill out an application and mention his name. The application is on-line at https://silkyrescue.tripod.com/appform.htm. If you have already filled out an application, it is not necessary to re-do it...just email Lyda at SilkyRescueApplications@yahoo.com and let her know you are interested in Yoda (please include your name and state so we can find your application in our files).

Yoda is in a foster home in southern California at this time. Preference will be given to local applicants. Yoda's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for him, and there will be an adoption fee or donation of $150.
