Bobby ~ in California

Looking for a Home

Iím Bobby, at least thatís what my foster Mom calls me. She found me sitting in a shelter waiting for my people to find me. They never came for me, but Silky Rescue picked me up and took me home. Iím a very happy, handsome boy. Iím about two years old and I weigh 10 pounds. I am neutered, healthy, and I have a natural tail that wags all the time.

Foster Mom says that I donít know much, so she is teaching me ďQuiet!Ē and ďHere!Ē and a lot of other stuff like sleeping in a crate at night and holding still when she brushes me and not pulling when we go for a walk. I give her good kisses, jump off her lap, and go explore some more. She shows me toys and gives me chewies, but Iím not sure what to do with them. She has taught me that treats are really good and you can get them by doing what she asks.

Bobby is sweet, yet independent. He doesnít climb out of his pen, but he can jump straight up into the air like a canine Michael Jordan. He must have had a doggie door in another life. At our house, he has to wait to be walked, and he has been good about his house training. He barks if he is left alone, but is learning quickly to be quiet on command. He likes the car and rides well in a crate. He has been to our very special vet and is sound and healthy, from what we can tell. He has all his shots and a microchip.

Bobbyís ideal home would have a secure, fenced yard and a doggie door. He needs a person who wants an energetic dog with a terrier attitude, is willing to take him to an obedience class for some basic training, and is kindly firm with a headstrong little guy. We prefer an adult home for him, but we would consider an older child who is good with dogs. He gets along with our dogs, but he really would like to be the boss. Cats? Donít know!

Preference will be given to local or in state applicants. Bobby's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for him, and there will be an adoption fee or donation of $200.00.

If you interested in Bobby please fill out an application and mention his name. The application is on-line at If you have already filled out an application, it is not necessary to re-do it...just email Lyda at and let her know you are interested in Bobby (please include your name and state so we can find your application in our files).
