Bob with Silky Gate

Bob Hurd passed away very unexpectedly on June 6, 2009 only a few days shy of his 66th birthday. He and his wife Deborah have been very active in Silky Rescue, always willing to take in a needy Silky, even some not so completely Silky, and give them the love and attention they needed to calm them and make them know that they are loved until they found a home. He would drive and meet, sometimes on very short notice, and was always willing to give of his time and lap.

Bob was always interested in the people around him, had a wonderful sense of humor and seemed to be very involved in the activities - not one to sit on the sidelines. He learned a lot about our breed and tried to breed and show his Silkys to their best advantage. As a result, they showed him to his.

Bob was in the Army and I attended his military graveside service. He was so deserving of all the honor and attention. Deborah said at that time that they had buried several of his dogs who had passed before him. I know that he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is presently playing with all of those who have gone before. They have been waiting for him.

He will be missed immeasurably by all who knew him, two and four legged.
