Looking for a Home

Hi! Iím J.B. Why J.B.? Just Because!

I am a 3 year old male Silky Terrier who was found wandering around an oasis on a hiking trail in the desert. I was found by a nice lady who called Silky Terrier Rescue to see if someone could take me. It turns out the Silky Rescue person in the area lived one block over and I was at her house within the hour! Sadly, my old family never came looking for me, but thatís okay...I am sure my new family will keep me safe and secure.

After I came to live with my new foster family it became immediately obvious how I may have become lost. I try very hard to find any possible way to escape from the yard. I can slip through any crack I can get my nose through and I can scale chain link like it is nothing. I am always looking for a way to escape and live a life of freedom so anyone who is thinking about adopting me must have an extremely secure yard.

I get along very well with my foster brothers and sisters. I play with them all day and would really like a brother or sister with the family that adopts me. I love toys...they are so much fun to rip up! I chase the ball very well and I always get it, but I donít always bring it back.

After a full day of playing I like to snuggle up with my foster family. It feels so good to have someone cuddle and pet me. My foster mom thinks I was an outside dog only at my old house. I canít believe how many rules they have here; donít get on the kitchen table, donít steal clothes from the laundry basket, donít eat out of the refrigerator and the weirdest one of all...donít chase the cat! Why wouldnít I chase it? It hisses at me and then runs. Iíd never hurt it, I just like to chase it.

My foster mom has been teaching me obedience. I can now sit for a treat and I sometimes lay down when asked to. I come when called only about 25% of the time, but Iím working on that. My new family will have to take me to a positive reinforcement trainer or I will be running their lives in no time. So, if you have room in your heart for a dog that needs a lot of basic manners training, but is a very cuddly love bug, please consider me, J.B.!

JB's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for him. Preference will be given to applicants within the surrounding area. Please note that we do not ship our rescues. The adoption fee for JB will be $300.
