Looking for a Home

Harley is an adorable two and a half year old Silky. His family has reluctantly decided that, due to changes in their situation, Harley would be better off in a new home. Before the changes in his home, Harley was his mom's buddy during the day - following her around, sitting at her feet or on her lap, happy as can be, going on walks or car rides with her, and learning new tricks.

Harley is neutered, micro chipped, and up to date on all vaccines. He attended basic puppy training when he was six months. He is allergic to bee and wasps stings and needs Benadryl on hand. His house training has slipped somewhat because he has had to stay outside all the time recently, so he will need some refresher training. Harley's family tells us that he is a very loving dog. He is nervous of others at first, but once he has familiarized himself with them he is kind and loyal. He grew up with an older pug and an older cat, so he is fine with both once introduced.

Harley is very active and alert. He is crate trained and leash trained. His foster mom thinks he would do best in a very active home with school age children, a large backyard, and family home all day. If left alone he will bark. It's important he be crated in the house when the family leaves for longer periods. He is very easy to bathe and enjoys being clean. He likes all games and lots of stuffed toys to chew. He will do best with a family with lots of time and energy to devote to this special guy.

He will need a brush up course on basic commands such as come, sit and stay, as well as on his housetraining. A family that is willing to devote time and effort into this little fellow will have a wonderful life long companion.

Because Harley is having some issues with guarding his food, he will need to go to a home where there are no young children (under 10 years old). Harley's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for him. Preference will be given to applicants within the surrounding area. His adoption fee will be $300. Please note that we do not ship our rescues.
