Piper ~ in Western Pennsylvania

Looking for a Home

Piper Hi, I'm Piper. I'm 10 years old, but don't let that fool you. There is plenty of spunk left in this ole boy. I love my foster mom, but I LOVE my foster grandpa. Mom says there's really no need for me to give Pappy a bath with my tongue as she's sure he has had one. But I don't like to leave that to chance. I love to have someone play with the hair on top of my head. It's calming and makes me go to sleep. My mom and foster sister like to give me weird hairdos. I wonder who Ed is and this Martin Short guy. And what's a mohawk?

I tolerate other dogs well. Mom has two and her whole family brings theirs to Pappy's on Sunday. But I like to rule them all. I only like cats if I'm chasing them away. Exercise, you know. I like older kids. Little ones carry around food (easy pickings) and I LOVE FOOD. Mom calls me a biscuit eater. Somehow I don't think it's a compliment. I live for my food and have to keep reminding Mom that it's almost dinnertime by scratching at my food bowls and grunting. It's not my fault my belly is on an early timer.

I love to ride in the car. I like to see where I'm going. I stand with my head on Mom's arm until I get sleepy and lie down. I am OBSESSED with tennis balls. I can rip one to shreds in about 15 minutes. Mom doesn't like picking up the little pieces and says they can be bad for me if I swallow them but Boy! are they fun.

I wasn't taught manners when I was younger, but Mom says I'm doing a LOT better now. They have rules around here and I'm learning them. My foster Dad is nice to play tug with but makes me work for my treats. He's big on the manners thing and says I have to learn I'm not the alpha dog. (I think he wants to be it.) I'm doing better in the crate. I know Mom will be back home as soon as she can. But I'd rather be on her lap than in a cage. I sleep with Mom and Dad. I like to keep them warm. Dad says I give him leg cramps. I think he's getting old.

The baby gates around here aren't screwed into the door frames and I know the secret of how to swing them open. The other two dogs must be dumb or they think it's part of the manners thing. When Dad blocks me off from a room I want to be in with them I just keep working at it until I find a way in. Dad says I'm too smart for my own good.

I have nice, newly cleaned teeth and am microchipped. I take a small thyroid pill twice a day in my food. I don't even realize Mom has put it in there, because Mom says Heaven forbid! I miss a crumb. My adoption fee is $200 and Mom says I'm worth every penny because I'm a little comic and make her laugh.

Piper's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for him, and an adoption fee of $200 will be required. Preference will be given to applicants within the surrounding area. Please note that we do not ship our rescues.
