Candy ~ in California

Looking for a Home

Iím Candy and I want to be your sweet companion. I have a lot of energy for playing and for walks, but I can sit on the sofa next to you while you watch TV or read just as well. I also give special kisses when you least expect one. I was found as a stray and taken to a shelter where Silky Rescue found me. I have been to my special vet to get my shots and to be spayed. He says I am very healthy and probably two or three years old.

I probably am part Silky and something else, because I have long legs and a short coat. I weigh 7 pounds, but I am quite thin. There are other dogs here and if I feel they are getting too close, I growl at them. Iím getting used to them, though. My foster mom puts me in a big pen during the day and I sleep in a crate at night. I always wait for her to take me out to do my business, because there is no doggie door here. I havenít made any mistakes, even when she lets me run around the house. I like her and I bark if she goes out without me. Iím starting to learn that she always comes back, so I only bark for a minute before I go take a nap.

Candy would do well in a home where there is somebody home most of the time. She most likely will adjust to other dogs in the home, but we havenít tested her on cats. She is too small for very young children, but a gentle older child would be fine.

Preference will be given to local or in state applicants. Candy's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to provide proper care for her, and there will be an adoption fee or donation of $150.00
