Loki ~ in Southern California

Looking for a Home

I am called Loki. As you can see, I am not a Silky Terrier...Heh heh! Didn't I do a good job of getting out of that awful shelter!? I am a young girl, probably about a year old. I am sweet and gentle. I like to play with other dogs and I like to be in the same room with you at all times.

I was picked up as a stray and taken to the animal shelter. The shelter guy with the camera got a shot of my head and shoulders and posted the photo on the shelter web site of dogs in danger of being put to sleep. My foster Mom saw it and jumped to the conclusion that I must be a Silky Terrier. She was not able to see the rest of me and the shelter people could not offer a description, so Foster Mom took a chance on me and here I am. I am probably half Whippet with the thin, curvy body and, as for the other half, we're thinking Poodle. I have a 3 inch coat and a lovely silver top knot. I have gentle brown eyes and hound-like ears.

Loki is an ideal quiet companion. She lies at your feet and follows you around the house. She has excellent house manners and she is almost housetrained. Like most young dogs, she chews things she shouldn't, so we watch to make sure she doesn't pick up anything she shouldn't. She walks on a leash, listens when you tell her what you want from her. She is very anxious to please. She does not climb or jump and stays off the furniture. She enjoys playing with dog toys.

She is spayed, has all her vaccinations and a microchip. She would probably be fine with young children and cats, but we have not tested her as yet with either.

Loki's new family will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to take proper care of her. The adoption fee for Loki is $150. Preference will be given to applicants within the surrounding area. Please note that we do not ship our rescues.

If you are interested in Loki, please fill out an application and mention her name. The application is on-line at http://SilkyRescue.tripod.com/appform.htm. If you have already filled out an application, it is not necessary to re-do it...just email us at SilkyRescueApps@gmail.com and let us know you are interested in Loki (please include your name and state so we can find your application in our files).
