Duffy ~ in Western North Carolina

Looking for a Home

This is Duffy, who was rescued by very kind people in western North Carolina. Here is his story...Duffy was found alongside the road outside his yard, in traffic, in early September. After his rescuers coaxed him to go back into his yard, they spoke to his owner. His former owner surrendered him to his rescuers, saying they no longer "wanted" him. He had been living OUTSIDE for 2 years.

The rescuers took him to their vet and had him neutered, heartworm checked (negative...now on preventative), de-flea-d (they were leaping off of him!), de-wormed, vaccinated (he'd had none), trimmed, and bathed, as he was a mess. He has been at the rescuers' home since his trip to the vet.

Duffy
Duffy Duffy is staying in a Greyhound-sized crate and does very well. He goes outside into an X-pen and does his business out there. He has 'met' the other dogs in the house ...Greyhounds and a Boston Terrier...and has no "issues" with them in that situation.

He does show a small amount of food aggression if either the cats or the dogs get into very close proximity to his food, but his foster mom/rescuer believes that is "fixable". Because of this, however, he would probably do best in a family with no young children.

Duffy is very friendly, loves to be held and cuddled, and he plays well. This is one sweet little guy who deserves a whole lot better than what he had in his past life.

If you are interested in adopting Duffy, please contact Kerry at nonudehounds@hughes.net. Preference will be given to applicants living within surrounding area. Duffy's adoption fee will be $200.

Since this is a courtesy listing, if you are interested in Duffy, please note that you will be dealing directly with his current foster mom and not with the Silky Terrier Rescue Charitable Trust. We have neither seen nor evaluated this dog and will not be involved with any arrangements made regarding his adoption.
